节肢动物是严重危害人类健康、动物健康和动物生产性能的一大类生物,造成重大经济损失。2007-2012年期间,“蜱虫病”在我国河南、山东等地爆发,造成1000多人发病,数十人死亡。据美国农业部统计,厩蝇每年给美国养殖业造成的经济损失超过20亿美元。家蝇传播的疾病威胁着人类和动物健康。
为了加强国际交流,促进我国节肢动物研究与防控水平的提高,应我国农业部国际合作司的邀请,美国农业部Dr. Phil Kaulfman一行4人将于5月19日对动物医学院进行学术交流与访问,并作学术报告。欢迎各位老师和学生参加。
The overall title of the lecture: "Arthropod pests impacting livestock and public health in the United States: Problems and management strategies".
Four presenters will present the lecture, each presenter will address a subtopic, listed below:
Dr. Phil Kaulfman, University of Florida - Veterinary Entomology at the University of Florida
Dr. Xing Ping Hu, Auburn University - House fly – transmission of C. pseudotuberculo in horses and management
Dr. Jerry Hogsette, USDA Agricultural Research Service- Biology, ecology and management of stables flies around livestock and other animals
Dr. Andrew Li, USDA Agricultural Research Service- Control of ticks as disease vectors affecting livestock and human health
