教授，博导。男，汉族，1956年11月28日出生于江苏省东台市。1978年3月入南京农业大学畜牧兽医系兽医专业学习。1982年2月到中国农业大学(原北京农业大学)动物医学院从事中兽医学教学和科研工作。现兼任中国兽医协会中兽医分会会长；中兽药产业技术创新战略联盟理事长；中华人民共和国农业部新兽药审评专家；《中华人民共和国兽药典》委员会委员。《中国兽医杂志》、《中兽医医药杂志》、《动物医学进展》和《动物保健品信息》期刊编委，《中兽医学杂志》副主编。

主要教学工作：自参加工作以来，主讲过家畜病理生理学、兽医针灸学、兽医中药学、中兽医方剂学、中兽医内科学、中兽医外科学以及中兽医学等。为研究生讲授了中药方剂专题、中兽医古籍选读、中兽医研究进展等课程；为兽医大专函授班以及台湾或国外学员讲授了中兽医学，针灸学等课程。

主要科研工作：目前主持“十二五”国家科技支撑计划重点项目“现代中兽药研究与新药创制”（项目首席专家）及其重点课题“防治畜禽呼吸、消化系统常见病证中兽药创制及应用示范（2011BAD34B01）”、农业部公益性行业（农业）科研专项子课题“猪重要脾胃病辨证施治关键技术研究与示范（201403051-07）”和“家畜生产运输应激模型的建立及药物评价芯片的研制与开发（201003060-10）”2项；主持并完成“十一五”国家科技支撑计划项目重点课题“中兽药药效评价模型及其关键技术研究（2008BADB4B01）”和“大蒜挥发油活性部位新制剂的研究与开发（2006BAD31B05-2）”2项；主持或副主持并已完成国家自然科学基金项目“胃肠激素与脾失健运相关性及四君子汤调控机理研究(30771591)”、“热应激对猪小肠黏膜结构与功能的影响及其中药调控机制(30771566)”、“健脾消食中药对鸭胰腺外分泌的影响及其机理（30270977）”、“脏腑经穴磷酸二酯酶同功酶分布与中草药归经研究（30270978）”、“兽医中西药处方生成系统的研究（39270527）”等5项；北京市科委研发攻关类重大项目“畜禽抗应激冲剂的研制开发与推广”。

研究生培养：硕士生，已毕业31名，在读4名；博士生，已毕业14名，在读5名。

文章与编著：主编有《中兽医学》（面向21世纪全国高等院校统编教材）、《中兽医学》精简版（农业部“十二五”规划教材）、《中兽医方剂精华》、《猪病中药防治》和《创造新世纪中兽医学》；参加编写或翻译的著作有《中华兽医精典》、《中兽医方剂学》、《兽医中药药理学》、《中兽医学大辞典》、《现代中兽医大全》、《中兽医方剂大全》、《牛病中药防治》、《鸡病中药防治》、《中药饲料添加剂》、《伴侣动物疾病速查》、《动物医院临床技术》、《Chinese Anatomy and Physiology》、《Equine Acupuncture》、《Traditional Chinese Veterinary Acupuncture and Moxibustion》、《猪病学》等著作或教材20余本。在中外核心期刊发表论文120余篇，其中SCI论文20余篇。
