国家杰出青年基金获得者，入选国家百千万人才工程，国家有突出贡献的中青年专家，国家973项目首席科学家，全国农业科研杰出人才，北京市教学名师。国际猪兽医学会（IPVS）执委会委员、农业部动物流行病学与人畜共患病重点实验室主任、国家生猪产业技术体系疫病控制研究室主任和岗位专家、农业部动物防疫专家委员会猪病组组长、国家农业转基因安全委员会副主任委员。现任中国畜牧兽医学会秘书长、禽病学分会理事长、动物传染病学分会副理事长、中国兽医微生物学专业委员会副主任委员。主要从事猪繁殖与呼吸综合征等猪病毒性疫病的分子病原学与分子流行病学、诊断与防治技术、致病与免疫机制研究。主编《中国猪病学》、《动植物检疫概论》、《动物免疫学》。在Journal of Virology、Autophagy、Virology等国外学术刊物发表SCI论文50余篇。
